April 11, 1946 – September 23, 2025
Vale Darrowood Dorsey Jr., the beloved son of the late Vale Dorsey and Geraldine Dorsey, was born in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1948, The family relocated to Brooklyn, New York. Vale Attended the New York City school system; he Graduated from George Westinghouse Career and Technical High School. Upon graduating, Vale entered the United States Air Force. Vale's military career included a tour in Vietnam, and as an aircraft Radar Technician in Alaska. Vale received an honorable discharge after serving thirteen years.
Among the things Vale enjoyed most were reading, writing poetry, music and bowling. Most of all, his love for God was paramount in his life. He also was a Lay Mentor, and it was his passion to teach about God's love to others.
There will be a void in the lives of his beloved family. He is survived by his sister Beverly, nephews Nazeer, Dhwan and Shawn, brother-in-law Berkeley Chandler, close friend Patrica Aldridge, wife Ruby Dorsey, ex. wife Betty Dorsey, daughter Jamaica Dorsey and a host of grands and great-grands. Ralph Dorsey, his only brother, proceeded him in death.
As resident of Palm Coast, Florida, Vale faithfully attended The Purpose Center Church and was loved by all who knew him.
