Travis O. Starling 74 of Daytona Beach passed away on Sunday November 9 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Baggett-Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach Street Daytona Beach on Saturday November 15 2008 at 10:00 a.m. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Travis was born in Jasper FL on September 9 1934. He graduated from Mainland High School in 1953. Travis was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is the ""original"" franchise owner of the ""Muffler Man"" name owning and operating Starlings Muffler Man Shop in Holly Hill for 40 years. Travis was an avid Florida Gators fan and also a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars; he enjoyed fishing camping and all outdoor activities. He also loved the time he spent in Hawaii. Travis was on the Board of Directors of Shady Rest Cemetery; he was a member of the Florida Beef masters Association and the Florida Farm Bureau. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Paula Starling of Pierson FL; his son Darrell Starling of Ormond Beach FL; his brother Larry Starling of Holly Hill; and his two sisters Mildred (Alton) McLeod of Madison FL and Waunell (John) Edwards of Holly Hill.
