Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce that Timothy Jay Loutzenhiser, 69, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on September 30th, 2026.

Tim was born on November 11th, 1956, in Salem, Ohio to Richard and Marjorie Loutzenhiser. He spent his early years in Salem, but after his graduation from Salem High School, Tim moved to Florida to attend college, where he earned his degree in Marketing and Economics at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. Tim used his natural gift for building relationships and his way with people, to forge an extraordinarily successful career in pharmaceutical sales, winning numerous awards and trips throughout his over 45 years in the industry. While living in Tampa, he met the love of his life Melissa, who he called Missy. They were married on September 7th, 1991, and soon moved to Ormond Beach, where they began building their family.

Tim was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, and friend to everyone he met. Anyone who knew Tim knows that nothing brought him greater joy than talking about his family, and how proud he was of his four children, Elyce, Aly, Sam, and Jillian. Beyond his family, Tim loved golf, oldies music (The Eagles, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, The Beach Boys, and Barry Manilow to name a few), his animals (three cats and his granddog, Phoebe, who he loved to buy cheeseburgers), the Food Network (especially Beat Bobby Flay), Twizzlers, and attending the University of Alabama football games, where he proudly cheered on his daughter, Jillian, as she performed with the Million Dollar Band Color Guard. Golf and music gave Tim some of his best stories. He loved telling everyone about how he played Pebble Beach, saw The Eagles perform live at The Sphere in Las Vegas, and even went out to Denver to see The Beach Boys play at Red Rocks. Most of all, he loved anything that gave him an opportunity to spend precious time with his family.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Melissa; daughters: Elyce, Alyson, and Jillian; son: Sam; brother, Richard "Dick" Loutzenhiser (Connie); and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Tim is preceded in death by his brother, Jim; sister, Cindy; and beloved family dog, Colby.

A memorial service celebrating Tim’s life will take place on November 7th, at 11am, at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, Florida. Family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10:30am. We invite all who knew and loved Tim to join us in honoring his memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, Florida.
