Thomas Trott, 78
Thomas Osborne Trott, a longtime resident of Ormond Beach, died at his home April 4, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Anniston, Alabama on May 14, 1938 to Thomas and Hazel. At the age of 17 he married his wife June and enlisted in the US Air Force. After his time in the Air Force, they moved to Ormond Beach in 1972, by way of Atlanta, Georgia. A few years later he opened Trott's Carpet and operated a well-respected family business, which still thrives to this day.
He is survived by his wife, June, of 61 years and three children: Pam Trott of Ormond Beach, Thomas Trott Jr (Lynda) of Port Orange and Shawn Trott (Tiffany) of Port Orange. 6 siblings also survive him; Annette Dickerson (Alabama), Jerry Trott (Alabama), Vicki Treadway (Georgia), John Trott (Alabama), David Trott (Alabama) and Donald Trott (Port Orange).
Additionally, he is survived by 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sister Kathy Kauhn.
For family and friends there will be a viewing on Monday, April 10th, 2017 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 Lohman's will host a Celebration of Life, which will be held at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service with Military Honors at Volusia Memorial Park.
