Thomas "Tom" Spivey, 79 went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Tom was born in Savannah, Georgia to Lester and Sydney Spivey on October 23, 1935. In 1945, he and his family moved to Ormond Beach, FL and made their first home in a tin shed in what is now known as "Spivey Acres"

A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 7th at 6:00 p.m. at Daytona Christian Church 1135 6th Street Daytona Beach. Officiating will be his son, Rev. Mark Spivey.

Tom was a lifelong member of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters & Service Technicians Local 295, where he served as former Business Manager and member for 59 years. Tom's favorite thing to do was sacrificing his time for his family and anyone in need. Tom not only loved his family, but he embraced people from all walks of life and saw his "real work" in life as following in the steps of Jesus Christ in "helping others along the way." When he wasn't helping others, he enjoyed being outdoors fishing or just sitting on the porch enjoying the breeze and what he called "the little important things in life." Tom was selfless except when it came to a good meal! He loved good food and sweet tea.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet Spivey; four children, Mark, Terri, Tracy, and Kyle; four grandsons, Matt (Anna), Chris, Cole (Ashley) and Aaron; as well as a great-grandson, Noah.
