Thomas Edward Ruland an enthusiast of life lost his battle with cancer at home with family and friends this day June 5 2006. Tom a native of the Daytona area was born August 1 1939 attended Mainland High School left his lifeguard post on the Daytona shore to serve in the United States Air Force and retired a commercial airline pilot after 38 years of service with Delta Airlines. With his wife Lorale by his side he shared his love for the ocean riding Harleys airplanes international travel and spending time with family and friends. Tom will forever be in the hearts of his wife of 25 years Lorale his son Russell his daughter Renee two step sons Jim and David two grandchildren his sister Rita and beloved nephews Larry and David as well as many other nephews and nieces. A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 9 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL.
