Obituary

Thomas J. Willis AKA "Rip" 84 passed away peacefully on March 14 2013. A funeral service in his honor will be held on Wednesday March 20 2013 at 11:00 A.M at Mount Bethel Baptist Church 700 South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Daytona Beach FL. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M prior to the service. Thomas graduated from Campbell High School in Daytona Beach FL. He served in the United States Air Force for five years and served during the Korean War. Thomas was a deacon at Mount Bethel Baptist Church and also enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a photographer by trade and even owned his own studio many years ago. Thomas was a member of the 89er's Social Club of Daytona Beach and loved to repair bicycles for the children in his neighborhood. Thomas will be remembered by his wife of 57 years Sue Willis; daughters Margaret "Gwen" Willis and Kimberly (Phil) Willis-Barnes; grandchildren Algermany Barnes and Kimora Barnes; nephews Johnathan McCaskill Morris Small and Pierre Louis; nieces Veronica Dorrall Evelyn Faison and Marlene Dumas; family friends Dana Hamilton Dawn (Lance) Rigby Christopher Miley Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Gallman and Jo-ann Teel; adopted son Larry Sanders; and many more nieces nephews and friends.
