Thomas W. Mendel, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away in his sleep on Saturday, December 5th, 2020. He was 93. Tom was born on January 17, 1927 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Wilbur H. and Olive V. (Gray) Mendel.

As a young adult, Tom attained the level of Eagle Scout. During WWII, Tom served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant paratrooper. Tom graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was also a 32 degree Mason. Tom enjoyed playing bridge and was a life master in the ACBL. During his working years, Tom was employed by AT&T for 42 years. He retired as the managing director and chairman of the board for AT&T Microelectronics Thai. Together with his wife Patricia P. Mendel (deceased 10/06/2013) they founded Christ Lutheran Church in Palm Coast, Florida.

Tom is survived by his brother Wilbur; sons, Michael and Thomas, and Grandson Conner.

A service remembering Tom's life will be held in the coming year at Christ Lutheran Church, Palm Coast, Florida.
