Colonel (Ret) Thomas M. (Mickey) McClelland age 80 of Pelican Bay passed away at his home Thursday July 29th. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday August 3rd at Central Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. His family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm in the chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. Tom was a graduate of Mainland High School and the Univ of Florida and received his MBA from Lehigh Univ in Pennsylvania. After a highly decorated military career covering over 32 years he retired in 1980. Subsequent to his Army service Tom was the Director of Public Works for Volusia County and later the City of Daytona Beach. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed golf his duties with the Checkered Flag Committee at Daytona Int'l Speedway and Florida Gator football. Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years Faye; his three children Thomas Jr. (Batavia IL) Kem (Austin TX) and Karen (Decatur AL); his eight grandchildren Brian Kelsey Nolan Sela Liam Devlyn Chris and Daniel; his great-granddaughter Cyla; his sister Sandi Milo (DeBary FL); his aunt Jane Webb (New Smyrna); and numerous nieces nephews cousins and other extended family all of whom loved him and will miss him greatly. Col. McClelland will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
