Funeral Services for Thomas L. Durrance age 55 of Ormond Beach who died Friday July 22 in his Ormond Beach home will be Monday July 25th at 11:00am at Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joe Wendorph as the officiant. His family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Sunday July 24th in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Mr. Durrance was born February 8 1950 in Daytona Beach to Leonard and Alma E. ?Betty? Clifton Durrance. He was a graduate of Mainland High School and the University of Florida. He remains a record holder as a Gator running back 1969-72 and he is a member of the U.F. Athletic Hall of Fame. Tommy was the CEO of Halifax Paving Inc. and partner in Durrance Development. He was an active member of his community for many years as a former captain of the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club former member of the St. John?s Water Management District Board and a member of the Daytona International Speedway Checkered Flag Committee. Tommy has been on the Board of Directors for local organizations such as the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce Daytona Beach Community College Foundation The Florida Citrus Bowl Gator Bowl Ormond Beach YMCA Ormond Memorial Hospital Sun Trust Bank University Club and the Volusia County Gator Club. He has been a supporter of athletic and educational programs at the University of Florida Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Seabreeze and Mainland High Schools and Pop Warner Football. He loved hunting fishing and being outdoors. He was a man of integrity honesty and character.
He was predeceased by his father Leonard Durrance. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Jo Lynn 2 sons Tad and Joey both of Ormond Beach a daughter Dai of Ormond Beach his mother Betty of Ormond Beach a brother Lennie of Ormond Beach a sister Irene of Ormond Beach and an abundance of loving family and friends.
