Thomas Enrico DeSimone 65 of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family after valiantly fighting mesothelioma (asbestos cancer). Tom is survived by MaryLou his loving wife of 43 years and their five children Thomas Jr. and wife April Anthony and his wife Trish Patricia and her husband Bruno Schepmans Roseanne and her husband Ron Rossi and Robert and his wife Nicole his nine grandchildren Christina Michael Mackena Sunny Ajay Melanie Sabrina Emily Robert Jr his sisters Barbara and AnnVictoria and brother Ronald and many cousins nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents Armando Thomas and Frances as well as his younger brother Robert.
Born and raised in the Bronx NY Tom served overseas in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and always wore many hats anything from construction to mechanic multiple business owner and entrepreneur. He found his niche after moving to Florida in 1979 when he and MaryLou started All Star Dry Cleaners. They built that business to serve all of Flagler County with eight locations. Tom and MaryLou were avid Motor coach travelers crossing the country numerous times. Never one to sit still he fulfilled his love of classic cars by buying restoring and selling them. He enjoyed the outdoors where on a sunny day he could be found at the beach with his family or on the golf course.
Tom touched all who met him with an infectious smile and personality to match. His proudest moments were those spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all and will never be forgotten. Fly with the angels "Big Papa."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday December 22 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 600 S. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach FL with Interment to follow in Volusia Memorial Park 550 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach FL.
A Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Wednesday December 21 2011 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL 32174.
