Theresa "Teak" C. Gordon 79 a long-time resident of Volusia County passed away on February 18 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 18 1930 in Hancock NY and grew up in Oxford NY where she graduated from Oxford Academy High School. For several years she worked as a ladies apparel buyer in Norwich NY until she met and married the love of her life and devoted husband David to whom she was married 58 years. In the early 50's they relocated to Florida where she became a homemaker raising two wonderful children. Some of her hobbies included painting crafts cooking baking and sewing but her favorite past time was golf. She was a member of the Daytona Beach Women's Golf Association and was Club Champion of 1st Flight in 1975. She was also a charter member of the Pelican Bay Golf Club of Daytona President of the Pelican Bay Ladies Golf Association in 1981 and was 1st Flight Champion of the Ladies Medal Play at Pelican Bay in 1982. Her greatest passion however was for her family especially her husband and caretaker David who will remember her as being the best friend and confidant a husband could ever have. Their marriage was a true inspiration to her children. Teak will be remembered most for her kind heart brilliant smile wonderful sense of humor and inspirational love of life and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband David; son Raymond "Gordy" Gordon and his wife Cleda of Port Orange FL; daughter Susie Gordon of Daytona Beach FL and brother Sam Caruso of New York State. Services will be held on Friday February 26th at 3:00pm at Church of the Epiphany 201 Lafayette Street Port Orange.
