Obituary

Thelma Jane Tarver, 75, of Palm Coast passed away July 25, 2015 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Marks by the Sea Lutheran Church, 303 Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137.

Thelma Jane "TJ" (or "Tootsie" as she was affectionately known to her family) was born November 16, 1939 in Baltimore, MD to Thomas James and Mary Hattie (Tolbert) Ryan. She cared for her aging mother for many years. TJ attended Southern High School in Baltimore. She started her career as an office administrator in the banking and mortgage industry.

TJ moved to Palm Coast where she continued her career and started her new life of love. TJ met Theodore Tarver and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 25 years together. TJ and Theodore traveled extensively throughout Europe. They have been a part of the Hammock Dunes community for 25 years, where TJ was an ardent golfer and beloved member.

TJ will be remembered as a generous and loving benefactor. As a faithful servant of St. Marks by the Sea, she was instrumental in the construction of the church columbarium. TJ then took on the landscaping and new roof project for the church. TJ was involved in many fund raising events for Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. She gave generously of her time and resources to many deserving charities.

TJ will be sadly missed by her loving husband Theodore, by her brother George Ryan and sister-in-law Lillian, by her dear nephews Tim Ryan (wife Pam) and Steven Ryan, and by her special golfing buddies Ann Tranzow and Patricia Stainbrook. She will be mourned by her beloved miniature schnauzer, Molly the Third, who always slept by her side.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Marks by the Sea Memorial Fund, 303 Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
