Thelma I. Kuzmovich 80 a long time resident of Volusia County passed away June 23 2009. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Thelma was born in Turtle Creek PA on March 5 1929. In her mid 20's she relocated to California and in 1979 she and her family moved to Florida and bought the Sun Ranch Motor Lodge Motel on Ridgewood Avenue in South Daytona (currently known as The Sunset). In 1986 they sold the Motel and began their retirement. Thelma enjoyed traveling and could often be found gambling at the Casinos in Biloxi MS. On many occasions she could also be found fishing under the Port Orange Bridge with many of her buddies. Thelma will be remembered most for being a happy loving nurturing mother and a woman with a strong will. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many good friends. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Lisa Kuzmovich of Port Orange; sister Bessy (Rich) Hicks of South Florida four grand children and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband Lawrence to whom she was married 37 years son Larry and sisters Alda and Mary.
