Thelma R. Bennett age 91 Port Orange went to her heavenly home on Sunday August 2 2009. A graveside service in her honor will be held on Wednesday August 5 2009 12:30 p.m. at Daytona Memorial Park Daytona Beach. Thelma was born in New London Indiana to A. Everett and Gracie Donnell. She was a graduate of the Indianapolis Business College and submersed in the activities of her children as they grew. Thelma was also an active member of the Port Orange Methodist Church for many years. She dedicated her life and talent as a devoted wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother doing everything she could for all those around her and was very proud that her dear husband and children are direct descendents of the founders of Tomoka. Her parents and her beloved husband of 36 years Lawrence C. Bennett preceded her in death in 1974. She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children Lawrence E. (Debbie) Bennett DeLand FL James H. (Judy) Bennett Port Orange FL Ruth (John) Yuzzolin Port Orange FL Harriett Bennett Seattle WA.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
