IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terry G
Johnson
April 23, 1951 – October 14, 2024
Terry Johnson, age 73, sadly passed away on October 14, 2024 in Palm Coast, Florida after a valiant battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved husband of Cynthia Johnson for 39 years and son of the late Alma Madge and Robert Harold Johnson of West Plains, MO. He is also preceded in death by his sisters Marian Jean Johnson, Maxine Olinger, Shirley Rubio, and brother Rick Johnson.
Terry was born in San Francisco, CA. His father moved the family to West Plains, MO in 1956. Being raised on a farm in the country with the love of family, Terry grew up with outstanding work ethic and ambition. His sweet demeanor was recognized by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Kind and generous, Terry was always willing to help others. When you got a hug from Terry, you felt it and would never forget ... Terry's passion for auto repair led him to many years of training which eventually allowed him the exceptional skills as a diesel mechanic. His dream was to own a truck repair garage. Terry moved to Pittsburgh in 1973 where he proudly established TJ's Auto & Truck Service, Inc. in June 1982 and remained servicing the extended region for over 48 years. Through those years he built lifelong relationships with his employees, customers and vendors by always being fair, honest and trustworthy.
Terry also enjoyed boating at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club. For years he was the Captain of the Cindy Lynn where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson and Corvettes. Terry was a great joke teller, he loved to play card games like Screw Your Neighbor, Left Right Center and Taboo.... So many laughs over the years.
Terry also fulfilled his dream of retiring in Florida. Cindy and Terry moved to Palm Coast in July 2024. Retirement was not exactly as planned and sadly short lived, however, he accomplished all he dreamed of.
Terry had a positive impact on everyone who had the fortunate opportunity to be in his company and feel the kindness through his eyes that came directly from his heart. He was someone who made a huge difference in this world and he will be greatly missed and forever remembered by so many.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, brother David Sloniker, his children, Gregg Johnson (Melissa) Kilgore, Texas, Melissa Kernick (Patrick), Terry Johnson Jr. Pittsburgh, PA and Casey Johnson (Veronica) St. Augustine, FL.
Terry is the proud Grandfather to Alexis Lanken, Skyler Patsko, Chase Kernick, Angela Johnson, Julia Johnson, Lana Johnson, Eva Johnson, Rebekah Johnson, Kenneth Johnson. He is also the proud Great Grandfather to Eve Lanken, Atlas Lanken and Camdyn Johnson.
You will always be in our hearts
We love you Bubby, Dad, Pap and Pappy
