Suzanne Hughes Goldberg, 60, of Ormond Beach Florida, formerly of Hackensack, NJ and Springfield, VA passed away recently after a short illness. Mrs. Goldberg began her medical career at the Englewood School of Nursing and after graduating, stayed on staff as a Registered Nurse. She continued her nursing career in the Tri State Area before relocating to Northern Virginia where she was a nurse in several VA hospitals. In 1999, Goldberg received her Master's Degree from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. She then went to work at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda MD as a nurse scientist. Her many accomplishments included heading the following clinical trials: CLEVER, BARI 2D, OAT Institutes, and Coag. She was also a NHLBI representative for staff training in extramural programs. Mrs. Goldberg was an avid dog lover and donations in her memory can be sent to Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32124. The family will be holding a private gathering. She is survived by her loving husband, Philip of Ormond Beach, son Joshua of Destin FL , brother Richard also of Ormond Beach, niece Allison of Washington Township NJ, and nephew Kenneth of Denver, Colorado.
