Susan Lori Van Camp DeMatteo, also known as Susie to her many friends, has passed away on Friday August 18, 2017. Born on July 25, 1961 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada to Swain and Thelma Van Camp. Growing up alongside her older sister Sandra and her younger brother Scott made for a full household.

Susie was a very rambunctious, courageous and social butterfly. She was always playing pranks on her friends and family, as well as taking as many spontaneous trips as she could. Her vibrant personality touched many lives. She made lasting friends throughout her lifetime.

Sue met Bill in 1979 on a family trip to Daytona, which was the beginning of her soon to be life in the Sunshine State. Seven years later, she married the love of her life and relocated to a much warmer climate. Here she became a mother of 3 equally as beautiful and vivacious girls, Kristie, Danielle, and Nikki.

Her career as a dedicated nurse further accentuated her nurturing personality and allowed her to influence those around her in a positive way. She has been described by many as one of the happiest people that they have ever known.

Sue is survived by her parents, Swain and Thelma, her brother Scott & his family, her husband Bill, and her daughters Kristie, Danielle, and Nikki. A service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange, FL. Doors open at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to United Way of Volusia County.
