Susan Escue Stetler passed away peacefully on May18, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, after a brave battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 24, 1954 in South Charleston, WV to the late Russell Escue, and Lois Gabbert Escue. She grew up in Dunbar, and graduated from Dunbar High School. She later moved with her family to Charlotte, NC, and attended Mercy School of Nursing, where she became a respiratory therapist. She completed her nursing degree from Wytheville Community College in Virginia, while living in Galax, where she raised her sons. She moved to Daytona Beach in 2003, and worked as a RN for Halifax Health Hospice, until her retirement. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Eric Stetler (Emily), Orlando, and Dr. Phillip Stetler (Amanda), Baltimore, MD, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Susan was loving, caring, and always ready to help others. She was a devoted mother, and loved by her family, friends, patients, and coworkers. She was a member of Tomoka Christian Church. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 11am, at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W.
