Susan F. Seppala, 80, of Port Orange Florida, passed away on March 3rd after a brief illness.
Susan was born on August 22, 1942, to Emerson & Marie Duquette in Cranston, RI. After graduating from Braintree High School in 1960, she married her high school sweetheart John W. Seppala, also of Braintree. A highlight of her youth was that she danced on American Bandstand with Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers.


John and Susan went on to have two sons, Jon and David, and built their home in Braintree Mass., where she enjoyed creating a beautiful environment for her family. Susan's parents owned a prominent nursery growing up, so she loved gardening and it showed… along with her love for animals, horses especially (although she never had one), she enjoyed years of breeding Doberman Pinschers with her family and always loved having her pups around her.


Susan worked as a head waitress at the Red Coach Grill and ultimately retired to take care of her sons. She loved to play tennis and later went on to work at the Blue Hill Tennis club as well as the Weymouth Tennis Club to fill her free time as the boys grew older. Susan loved to entertain, hosting dinner parties in her beautiful home, and had a great group of close friends with whom she enjoyed spending time with at every opportunity.


Upon retirement John & Susan moved to Beverly Hills, FL where they built their first retirement home, later moving to Crane Lakes where they resided for over 20 years. Susan continued to play tennis and started playing golf as well, continuing her effervescent social lifestyle expanding her network of friends… and what friends they are! Thank you to all of you.


Susan is predeceased by her parents Marie & Emerson Duquette. She is survived by her beloved husband John W. Seppala and sons Jon M. Seppala and David W. Seppala.


A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Port Orange, FL, 1715 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL 32128 on Saturday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Susan's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
