Susan A. Merritts-Blue was the daughter of U.S.Army PFC Earnest Souter and Sarah Souter. One of seven children, who was raised in the 50s and 60s. She raised two boys, Clinton and Todd Merrittts. Survived by Clinton Merritt's, daughter in law, Brenda Merritts and grandchildren, Max Merritts and Ashlyn Merritts. She was laid to rest with her son, Todd Merritts who passed in 2009. Both her parents preceded her in death as well. Her husband, Carl William Blue, preceded her in death several years ago.  She was also survived by her loving companion, Duke Duchacm. They loved each other very much.  Susan loved the outdoors, socializing with friends and family. Cooking was a joy to her and how she expressed her love of friends. Susan loved her many dogs through the years as they brought her great company. In her last years, she struggled with breast cancer and lung cancer, but never gave up the fight through sheer grit and determination until her final day of April 29, 2026. Susan was a fighter, a very outgoing person who cherished life and loved God !

     A Celebration of Life for Susan A. Merritts-Blue will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 12 PM at the Lake Veterans Club, 31116 Fairview Avenue, Tavares, FL 32778.

     Susan loved animals so much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local animal shelter in memory of Susan.
