Susan A. Bryant

DELAND — Susan A. Bryant, 86, went to be with the Lord Jan. 11, 2021. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Lohman Funeral Home DeLand, 935 E. New York Ave. (All COVID precautions will be observed). Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at DeLand Memorial Gardens, 600 E. Beresford Ave.

Susan was born May 19, 1934, in Lake City, the daughter of Alvin and Nellie Bethea Markham.

Susan was always involved with the church, teaching Sunday school, cooking for various functions, singing in the choir and working with youth groups.

She worked in correspondence at the PTL Club in South Carolina, was a nanny to several children, and a member of The Sanctuary Church of God in DeLand.

Susan was the widow of Donald H. Bryant. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Markham of Jacksonville; her three sisters, Jean Williams (Lawton) of Jacksonville, Mary Coward (the Rev. Parnell Coward) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Liz Coward of Rock Hill, South Carolina; her son, Kenneth Bryant (Mary); her two daughters, Donna Sue Bryant Parrott (Wayne) and Cheryl Bryant McLaughlin (Roy); her six grandchildren, Kendra, Michelle, Shanna, Mark, Garrett and Dawson; her 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
