Sue (Parks) Pritzker "Sweet Sue", a longtime resident of Ormond Beach, passed away Friday November 14, 2014 surrounded by her family at home. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, Sweet Sue joins her parents and two of her sisters in heaven. Alzheimer's broke into our family's world and targeted our beloved Mom. The disease slowly erased her memory and mind but did not touch her heart or spirit. It never took away her smile and zest for life. Mom was the light that illuminated and warmed many souls.we love her for that. She was our hero!
Mom was born in Lexington, Nebraska and moved to Florida in the early 70's. She worked as a medical secretary at Dr. Long's office before joining her son Jeff at his practice in 1997. In addition to working in the medical field, Mom dedicated her life to her children. Her love for us was unwavering and her belief in celebrating our lives is evident in the long standing tradition of month long birthday celebrations! Mom was best known for her style, smile, knee slapping laugh and epic back rubs.
Mom is survived by her sister Colleen Bowers, three children Jeffrey (Penny) Parks, Jenny (Bryan) Fries and Jodi (Joe) Roos, her six grandchildren Tori and Sydney Parks, Josh and Jesse Fries, and Amanda and Sean Roos, two great-grandchildren Tucker and Cameron Posey, and her furry companion, Red Dog. Mom is also survived by her angels here on earth, without whom her home care would not have been possible: Sue McCauley, Carolyn Stefinew, Cheryl Rillo, Jeanne Ellis, Tiffany Simpson, Laurin Hanrahan and Damaris Ester.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mom's team to help fight Alzheimer's. Go to act.alz.org, select Walk to End Alzheimer's and search for Mom's team name: Parks Dermatology's Sweet Sue Strollers. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
