Steven Nelson, or Starvos to his family, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts. Steve was the type of guy that was noticed when he walked into the room. It could have been that his personality was larger than life, it could have been his Greek good-looks, or that he was 6’7” tall. He was a jokester. It was a guarantee that he was bringing a joke, a look, or a laugh into every situation, and somehow bubble were involved…Above all, Steve was a family man. He was a strong, affectionate husband, a father that was active with his children. As the family photographer, there is a glimpse at what he thought was special, and who he cherished. He enjoyed the beach (any beach) and enjoyed touring the lighthouses along the shores.
Steve is survived by his wife, Marcelle Brien; son, Thomas Nelson; daughter, Patricia Nelson; daughter, Karen Bergeron; daughter, Kimberly Hovey (husband, Billy Hovey); brother, Charlie Nelson (wife, Beverly Nelson); grandson, Charles Wright, III. (wife, Grace Wright); grandson, Daniel Wright (wife, Taylor Wright); granddaughter, Hope Demers; granddaughter, Victoria Dunham; granddaughter, Harleigh Hovey; great grandchildren, Alaiyah, Jayce, and baby Penelope; and other extended family and friends.
There will be a time of visiting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 9:30am at the Fellowship Bible Church located at 1 Fellowship Way, Methuen, Massachusetts 01844. A Memorial Services will immediately follow at 10:30am to celebrate and honor Steve’s life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a laugh at a “dad joke” in Steve’s honor or a donation to Massachusetts General Living Liver Donor Program at massgeneral.org.
