Steve J.
Cerreta Sr.
Oct 1, 1954 — Oct 22, 2023
Palm Coast
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steve Joseph Cerreta on October 22, 2023. Born to Peter and Marie on October 1, 1954, Steve was raised in the beautiful small town of White Plains, New York.
Growing up, Steve loved wrestling, football, collecting coins, baseball cards, and spending time with his close friends. He attended WestLake High School in Thornwood, New York, where he served as President of his graduating class. Subsequently, he pursued his education at West Chester Community College.
Professionally, Steve was an accomplished Registered Nurse specializing in cardiovascular care. He also founded and successfully expanded an Assisted Living Facility Business from one to ten homes between 1995 and 2001. Alongside his former wife, Katherine, Steve co-owned and operated multiple businesses spanning assisted living, airsoft guns, and cell phones. He primarily worked at Halifax Hospital, focusing on cardiovascular care.
Steve's generosity, compassion, and unwavering work ethic profoundly impacted many. He stood as a beacon of support for his loved ones, emphasizing the significance of family time, education, and perseverance. His dedication to the nursing profession shone through his commitment to care and healing. Going above and beyond, Steve often provided groceries for his patients in need and continuously catered to those around him. His commitment to education was evident as he ensured three of his four children attended private schools for much of their academic journey, further ensuring their comfort as they advanced in life. He had a keen eye for recognizing good work and never hesitated to reward it.
Steve's legacy will forever be remembered not only for his unparalleled work ethic but also for his boundless generosity. Among those he held dearest were his mother, Marie, his late sister, Annamarie, and his former wife, Katherine.
He is survived by his sons, Steve and Peter; their mother, Teresa Cerreta-Fisher; stepson, Doug; stepdaughter, Vanessa; his cherished parents, Marie and Peter; his niece and nephew, Kyle and Casey Moran; his eleven grandchildren; and a close-knit community of friends and colleagues who revered him.
A visitation in memory of Steve will take place on Sunday at Lohmans Funeral Home in Palm Coast, Florida, beginning at 2 pm. A service will ensue at 4 pm to commemorate his exceptional life and legacy. Attendees will be treated to light pickings, complemented by coffee and tea, creating a comforting ambiance for reminiscing and celebrating Steve's life.
