Stephen Evans
Tackney
Jun 18, 1964 — Feb 15, 2022
Fort Myers
Stephen Evans Tackney, 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Fort Myers, FL on February 15, 2022. He was born in Miami, FL on June 18 th , 1964 to the late Neal and Patricia Tackney.
Stephen grew up with his siblings Kelly Jarvis, Neal Jr. and Patrick Tackney and his fondest childhood memories were the times spent in Annapolis, MD. In 1990 he moved to Daytona Beach where he met and married his wife of 31 years, Valerie, soon after he welcomed his sons Stephen Jr., born September 7, 1991 and Brendan, born February 28 th , 1993.
Stephen's 30+ year career with Pepsi cultivated friendships that lasted a lifetime. His most memorable time was spent organizing some of Daytona Beach's largest events.
Stephen was always drawn to the water, whether it was boating, fishing, or spending time at the beach with his friends and family. He also loved exploring new places and playing the lottery. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan, spending most Sundays during football season with friends on his pool deck watching them lose. He loved making his granddaughter Maeve laugh and terrorizing his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife Valerie, sons Brendan and Stephen, daughter-in-law Mina, granddaughter Maeve, siblings Kelly Jarvis, Neal Jr. and Patrick Tackney, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws too numerous to name that will miss him dearly.
Stephen made the most of life and lived every day to the fullest. His laugh was infectious and touched the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May God rest his soul.
