Dr. Stephen Henry Mazur Memorial Services for Dr. Stephen H. Mazur will be Friday April 9th at 2pm at Ormond Funeral Home.

Dr. Stephen Mazur age 87 of Ormond Beach Florida. He went to his heavenly home Thursday March 25 2004. Stephen Henry Mazur was born on November 29 1916 in Newark New Jersey. He was one of five children. He had two brothers Stanley and Edward and two sisters Sophie and Helen.

Dr. Mazur earned both his bachelor's and medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating from UNC Medical School in 1940. During World War II Dr. Mazur served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps.

After the war he began practicing medicine in northern New Jersey as an anesthesiologist. In 1951 he married Maureen Foulkes and they were together for thirty years before her death in 1981. In 1967 he and his family moved to Spring Lake New Jersey and then in 1973 moved to Goldsboro North Carolina. Dr. Mazur retired from practicing medicine in 1986 when he moved to Sun City Florida.

In 1989 Dr. Mazur relocated to Ormond Beach Florida where he has lived until his death. He is a former member of both the Ormond Beach Kiwanis Club and the Unitarian Universalist Society.

He is survived by his older sister Sophie Strat of Maplewood NJ; his four children Cam Blass of Ormond Beach; Paul Mazur of Spring Lake NJ; Gary Mazur and Steven Mazur both of Raleigh NC; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society 266 Villas Court Tallahassee FL 32301.
