Stella Sterthaus 94 of Astor passed away on Monday August 13 2012. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday August 20 2012 in the Chapel Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive guests for a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. Stella was born in Hamtramck Michigan on June 11 1918 to the late Julie and Wincynty Oceipka. She was a hard working caring person who put her happiness aside in hopes of helping others. So it was no surprise that she was a dedicated care giver most of her life. She also worked for many years locally in the offices of Dr. Blais before her retirement. Stella was deeply devoted to her faith and was one of the founding members of St. Hubert Mission in Astor where she also volunteered. She was preceded in death by her husband John Sterthaus sons Johnny Kroll and Jerry Kroll. Survivors include her children Ronald M. (Diane) Kroll William (Barbara) Kroll and Barbara (Toler) Bryan. She also leaves behind siblings Tony Oceipka Rita Phelps 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
