Also his special friends/family at Rossis Diner, his second home.
Stash joins his special friends John Scheepsma and Jim Domincoski in eternal peace.
Because of his devoted family, he was able to stay at home so he could be cared for by his family with help from Hospice. His entire life revolved around his religion, family and work. He was an Elmira Firefighter for 37 years and also retired from the Chemung County Sewer District after 40 years of service. He loved bowling, playing Euchre and watching his children at their sporting events. After they graduated, he and his wife liked to travel to see them and oftentimes, to see the grandchildren. In later years he traveled to Myrtle Beach and Florida as snowbirds; finally settling in Florida full time the last 10 years to enjoy the weather. He enjoyed making rosaries where he gave many to the deployed miliary as well as his friends and family.
He was a lifelong member of his home parish, St Casimir's Church, where he was a choir member, on the Parish Council, and belonged to the White Eagles Club.
In Florida he was a member of the Church of the Epiphany where he was an adorer at the adoration chapel, a member of the Men's Fellowship and a Eucharistic Minister.
His family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Halifax Health Hospice, the Epiphany Church Campaign or the Arctic League.
A funeral service will be held in Elmira in the spring of 2024.
