Stanley Gage Williams
Stanley G. Williams, 94, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away on March 28, 2016. He was originally from Franklinville, N.Y., attended Bucknell University and moved to South Florida in the 1940s after serving his country aboard an aircraft carrier in the U.S.Navy. He discovered a love for airplanes and spent his career immersed in aviation. He retired from the airlines in 1979 and along with his wife, Doris, eventually moved to Daytona Beach in the mid-1980s. He is preceded in death by two wonderful women, Doris Keppler Williams (1995) and Mary Cleary Williams (2011). He is survived by two daughters: Candace Thompson (William) of Dallas, TX and Karen Williams of Tampa, FL; four stepdaughters: Melissa Cleary of Munfordville, KY, Megan Cleary of Ponce Inlet, FL, Katherine Kenny (Martin) of Munfordville, KY and Jaqueline Sjostedt (Daniel) of Richboro, PA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. Stan was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 2:00 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with a gathering beginning at 1:00. Interment will take place at Franklinville Cemetery in New York at a later date.
