Socrates Nick Triantafellu 88 a lifelong resident of Daytona Beach passed away Friday August 24 2007 with his family at his side:
He was born November 24 1018 in Daytona Beach to Nick Sr. and May (Harny) Triantafellu.
He was a T-Sgt. in the Army Air Corps during WWIL He flew 73 missions as a radio-gunner in a B-26 Marauder and
received the Afr Medal 13 Oak leaf clusters the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart. After the war he returned to
Daytona Beach and to his job with Southern Bell Telephone Company. This is where he met his wife of 61 years Kathryn (Watcher).
They were married May 5 1946. After 42 years of service with the phone company going from fine worker making $12.00/wk. to a network supervisor he retired in February 1981. He was a member of The Telephone Pioneers and assisted dozens of blind persons by making repairs to their "talking book" machines. He would do this on his own time and truly enjoyed visiting with these people often telling them about his family work and experiences growing up in the Daytona Beach area. He was awarded the "Outstanding Service Award" in 1977 for his volunteer work with the blind. Ho was also a member of the local VFW and for many years ho enjoyed operating his ham radio gear under the call letters "W4IEU". He was always a hard working and caring man ready to help whenever needed Ho enjoyed hunting with all his "Lighter Knot Club" friends fishing Nascar traveling and being with his family and friends. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn "Kitty" daughter Sandra "Sandy"

Cheryl Southwick Stork (Michael) Colorado Spring CO Matt Triantafellu
Cocoa FL and Marcus Triantafellu New Smyrna Beach FL.
He was great-grandfather to Julia and Kaylee Frisbee Greenville TX Lily and
Finn Southwick Wetumpka AL and Remington Frisbee Texarkana AR.
