It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sidney W. Roberts, at the age of 70 on July 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Jean Mackiewicz, and brother, Robert Roberts. Sidney is survived by his son, Scott Roberts (wife Diana Roberts); his daughters, Jessica Roberts and Cortney Hobgood (husband CJ Hobgood); and his grandchildren, Genevieve Hobgood, Mia Lange, Gavin Natti, and Bowie Hobgood. Additionally, Sidney's close friends and co-workers, who all held a special place in his life, are also considered family. Sidney was born on June 15, 1954, in Austin, Texas. He attended Danville High School in Danville, Illinois, and Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. He was immensely proud of his nearly 50-year career in the nursing home business, starting as an administrator during his senior year of college. Sidney had a passion for classic cars and owned a '68 Shelby Cobra Convertible Mustang and a '63 Corvette Split Window Coupe. When not working or discussing cars, he enjoyed talking about politics and spending time with his friends and family. We will remember Sidney as a kind-hearted, humorous, and generous man who was loved by many. He will be forever missed.
