Shiv Kumar Aggarwal 67 of Port Orange passed away on January 12 2013. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday January 17 2013 at 10 am at the Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1210 Dunlawton Avenue Port Orange FL. Shiv was born on February 11 1945 in Hoshiarpur Punjab India. He was the eldest of 10 children and always had a strong interest in education. In India he completed two Masters Degrees in physics and mathematics. In 1971 he moved to the United States where he completed three additional Masters Degrees and a Ph. D. in Mathematical Physics from Ohio University. In 1973 he married his college sweetheart Nirmal Devi. They moved to Daytona Beach Fl. In1979. At Embry Riddle Aeronautical University he served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences. He had a great passion for advocating equal opportunities for women and children. His dedication to education has left a strong impression on thousands of students. His family and friends will remember him for his inquisitive nature love of music and poetry and his hearty laughter. Shiv is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Nirmal Aggarwal of Port Orange and many other family and friends here in Florida and back home in India.
