Shirley West, 85, a lifelong Daytona Beach area resident, passed away Tuesday, January 11 ^th . She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Prenttie Singleton, sister Bertha Toothaker, brother Richard Singleton, and her husband, Peter West. Shirley worked over 37 years for Southern Bell/Bellsouth, retiring as Business Office Manager in 1991. She then went on to a 2 ^nd career in real estate with Adams Cameron Realty, first as a sales associate and later Office Manager, retiring in 2016. Shirley was involved with the American Cancer Society and with Junior Achievement at various times in her life. Shirley is survived by her son, Stephen Wendig and daughter in Law Kristine Wendig of Gainesville; her sister, Betty Day of Port Orange, grandchildren Stephanie Lewis (Jon) of Deltona, Justin Wendig (Annie) of Jacksonville, and Christopher Kelley (Jessica) of Eustis; as well as 8 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Shirley's memory.

The family will receive guests at noon, Monday, January 17 ^th , at Lohman's Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, with services immediately following.
