Shirley Louise Vollmer, 92 of Astor, Florida passed away peacefully on January 4, 2016.
She was born October 6, 1923 in Syracuse, New York. Shirley worked several years with the city of Daytona as a Bookkeeper/Office Assistant. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Cowell and her husband Brad of Astor, Florida, her two sons, David Vollmer and his wife, Louise of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Wayne Vollmer and his wife Rochelle of Kirkville, New York, by four grandchildren, Wayne Vollmer, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Chittrnango, New York, Lacy Cowell and Ashley Cowell both of Astor, Florida, and Kim Harris and her husband Todd of Dacula, Georgia, by four great-grandchildren, Jenifer Vollmer, Tisha Grant, Tyler Bennett, and Kendall Harris, as well as by eight great-great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Bradford Vollmer, by her parents, Hugo and Inez (O'Connell) Muehlenbein, by two brothers, Harlan and Robert Muehlenbein, as well as a grandson, David James Vollmer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 8th at 3:00 pm Lohman Funeral Home Daytona; 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Daytona Memorial Park
