Shirley A. Smith 80 of Palm Coast Florida passed away October 14 2011 at her home. Visitatation will be October 24 2011 from 12 noon until the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW Palm Coast FL. Shirley was born in Philadelphia Pa. moving to Haddonfield NJ. then to Harlem NY. She graduated from Columbia University NY with her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science. Later she graduated from Pace University NY with her Masters Degree. Shirley also received her RN License and was employed at The Harlem Hospital. After retiring as an RN she decided to teach the curriculum and was employed at the Morris High School in the Bronx NY. Shirley also became an active member of the Merry Makers Club in NY. In 1993 Shirley and her husband Charles decided to move from NY and headed for sunny FL. landing in Palm Coast. Here she enjoyed the warmer weather cooking her soul food for her friends and family and relaxing. Shirley was a kind hearted loving person who will be sorely missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years Charles of FL. Sons Rhodney Moore of NY Wayne Harvey (Francesca) of FL Dawud Samia (Umid) of NY Daughters Laverne Grant of NY Linda Walker and Linda Steed both of Bermuda and Linda Howard of FL. Also Godson Eugene Howard and Goddaughter Cheryl Anderson. Shirley was also the loving grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind dear family and friends especially her beloved poodle "Poochi".
