Shirley J. Sabino died at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the age of 84.
Shirley was born in Utica, New York, on April 4, 1937, to Tommaso Di Georgio and Providenza (Lo Galbo) Di Georgio, who have predeceased her.
She was married to the love of her life, Arthur Sabino, on September 13, 1958. They were married for 58 years, until Arthur passed away on October 11, 2016.
Shirley was a leasing agent in the property management industry. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; a founding member of The Italian American Club of Ormond Beach, Florida; a past member of the Moose Lodge of Ormond Beach, Florida; and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ormond Beach, Florida.
Shirley loved cooking Sunday dinners, and having her family together around the table, talking and laughing and sharing stories.
She is survived by her beloved children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:
- Daughter Rebecca Bynum, and her husband Ron Bynum (predeceased), and grand-daughter Rachel Bynum.
- Son Peter Sabino, and his wife Amy, grand-daughter Jessica Thorne (husband Brian Thorne), grand-daughter Kristin Cooker (husband Brett Cooker); and great-grandchildren Kylie Thorne, Keira Cooker, Declan Cooker, and Ari Cooker.
- Daughter Patricia Zablo, and her husband Brent Zablo, grandson Anthony Zablo, grand-daughter Chelsie Zablo (husband Matt Weil), and grand-daughter Halie Zablo; and great-grandchildren Junior Weil, Bentlee Weil, Antonio Weil, Angelo Weil, and Kyla Graves.
- Son Thomas Sabino, and his wife Vicki Jo, grandsons Salvatore Sabino, (wife Amanda), Peter Sabino, (wife Kaitlyn), and Tyler Sabino; and great-grandchildren Giovanni Sabino, Vincinzo Sabino, Evelyn Anne Sabino, Beau Sabino, Jackson Sabino, Arrow Sabino, Thomas Sabino, and Peter Sabino.
- Daughter Terri Marie Sabino.
Shirley was predeceased by five of seven siblings: Mrs. Terry Sabino, Mrs. Annette Rastani, Mr. John Di George, Mrs. Rosalie Loubriel, and Mrs. Mary Justice. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Phyllis Florio, and brother, Mr. Frank Di George and his wife Bella. Shirley is also survived by her godchild, Leslie Loubriel, and many more nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, January 14, 2022, at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, Florida, with a burial at noon, following the service, at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, Fl 32114.
The Rev. Kenneth Loubriel will officiate.
