Obituary

Shirley J. Cooper 71 of Deland FL passed away January 5 2010. She was born in Dennison OH on June 14 1938. During her teenage years she relocated to New Smyrna Beach and graduated from Seabreeze Private High School in Daytona Beach. Soon after she met and married her husband of 51 years Joseph P. Cooper and raised three wonderful children. In 1963 she was baptized and became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses where she was very dedicated to teaching and helping those in need. One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with her family doing anything from roller-skating to hiking. Her family will remember her most for her kindness unconditional love and selflessness. She will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Shirley is survived by her husband Joseph; sons Joseph P. Cooper Jr. and his wife Carol of Rutherfordton NC Daniel J. Cooper and his wife Amina of Bristow VA; daughter Deborah J. Singley and her husband Greg; brothers Charles Brick Jr. of Blue Ridge GA William T. Brick of Oklahoma; sisters Christine Major of Dover OH Gypsie Peters of Salem OR; grandchildren Justin Jerod Jamin Daniel and Nicole as well as three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 9th at 4:00pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses 713 West Cincinnati Avenue Deland FL 32720.
