IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sheila Linnette
Shaw
December 10, 1948 – February 7, 2024
Sheila Linnette Shaw was born December 10, 1948 and passed away suddenly from a short illness on February 7, 2024. She was the first of three children born to James and Lillian Shaw. She grew up up on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Kirby Smith Elementary School and Andrew Jackson High School with lots of friends and family around.
Anyone that knew our mom could tell you what a loving heart she had, not just for people, but her fur babies as well. She raised five children with loving care, wise counsel, and a fantastic sense of humor.
She raised countless generations of dachshunds for over 50 years and left me with a love for this special breed of dog.
Her caring extended to her community, she was a volunteer firefighter in her younger years, and throughout her life showed bravery and dedication under difficult and daunting circumstances. She left her children a legacy of determination and strength.
She was everyone's mom and friend. To know her was to be accepted into a circle of love and caring. She treated you as if you were her one of her own family member. You would never know how much personal pain she bravely suffered through. She stayed strong for everyone else.
She married her soulmate, Steve, on July 10, 1998. We all knew what a good man he was and accepted him into our folds as a dad. They had 25 years of marriage and together. They weathered every storm that came their way as one individual. Even with her disabilities he cared for her and stayed by her side until the end. His love never faltered.
" We will look for you,
In sunshine and raindrops
In the twinkling of the stars
All the beauty that surrounds us
Will remind us that you were OURS"
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillian Shaw, her granddaughter, Amanda Murrell, and nephew, Roger Shaw.
She is survived by her husband, Steven McOsker; her twelve dachshunds; daughters, Tammy Murrell (Tony), Pamela Swan ( Ron); sons Douglas James Blackman (Liza), Michael Blackman (Angel), and Matthew Blackman (Nichole). Grandchildren Kadance, Khloe, Austin, Tyler, Kaylee, Michael, and Zachary. Niece Chrissa Johns (William) and Nephew Aaron Shaw (Tamara) great nieces and nephews and lots of cousins. Brothers Ricky Shaw (Sue) and Gordon Shaw.
Memorial Service and Celebration of life will be held at Evergreen Cemetery 4535 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206 on March 7, 2024 at 3 p.m.
