On August 4, 2023, Shawn Anthony Coltharp succumbed to a disease he fought his entire adult life. His family will remember him for his radiant smile, brilliant mind, sensitive soul, quick wit, and his heart of a lover and dreamer. Born in San Jose, CA on July 17, 1992, he grew up in Ormond Beach, FL then moved with his family to Pierson. He attended Spruce Creek High School excelling in their IB program and T. DeWitt Taylor High School. Shawn leaves behind his loving parents, Sam and Karen Coltharp, his brothers who always had his back, Matthew and Justin, his nephew who he adored, Joshua, his best friend, confidant and grandma, Linda Dial, his grandma Jackie, grandpa Don, Yai Pailin and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him unconditionally and deeply. He was predeceased by his grandpa Michael, and his grandpa Bruce, who surely welcomed him home. Shawn wanted nothing more than a new chance at life ~ a new beginning. The family takes comfort in the knowledge that he is finally free ~ both of body and mind. He will be greatly missed.
