A Memorial Service for Sharon O'Neill Spooner Ormond Beach who passed at home surrounded by loving family and friends on May 11th will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond on Thursday May 16 2013 at 3:00pm. Sharon was born in Ft. Wayne Indiana and moved to Florida with her husband in 1973. After spending a year in Titusville she moved to Ormond Beach in 1974. For many years she enjoyed bowling and was president of two leagues. She loved yoga and continued the discipline for more than 20 years. With the birth of her son she became actively involved as a volunteer at Pine Trail Elementary School assisting in the library. In the '80's she began her long association with the Children's Musical Theater. She loved being around children and the children loved her often calling her ""Miss Sharon"". Also in the '80's she nurtured her love for needlepoint by becoming involved with ""Needle in the Haystack"". After ""Haystack"" she and her friend Pauline began ""Threads of Time"" a yarn/needlepoint/cross-stich shop located on U.S.1. Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her bright blue eyes and smile would light up a room. She also loved playing pinochle cribbage skip-bo and numerous board games. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years Scott R. Spooner; son Erik Watertown MA; sister Karen Scott of Ft. Wayne IN; sister-in-law Marcia Gurule of Coatesville PA; niece Kim O'Neill of Ft. Wayne and numerous cousins. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central Florida. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
