Sharlyn "Sharee" M. Geiger, 73, of Daytona Beach, passed away on November 7, 2015 . Sharee's husband Chuck, her daughter Debbe, and son-in-law Patrick were at her bedside holding her hand while she passed at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday December 1, 2015 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
Sharee was born on March 26, 1942 in Bennington, Kansas to the late Russell and Delores Nisbeth.
Sharee graduated with the class of 1960 at Bennington High School, where she played saxophone in the marching band. Sharee met Chuck Geiger from Salina, Kansas and was married on September 26, 1962.
They then moved to Manhattan, KS where together both received degrees in Architecture from Kansas State University. Sharee and her husband moved from Kansas to St. Petersburg, FL in 1967 where they enjoyed fishing and boating and gave birth to her daughter, Debbe.
Sharee was a Nursing Home Administrator for more than 25 years in Volusia County and was also President of the Nursing Administrators Association. She was also a problem solving consultant for nursing home owners and started Alzheimer's units in Florida. Sharee was the first in the State of Florida to receive a superior rating for her facilities for consecutive years.
She enjoyed raising her daughter, pets, painting, paintball, riding her Harley, target shooting, hunting, fishing, Kewpie doll collecting, baking, sewing, dancing, swimming and gardening.
Survivors include Sharee's husband Chuck of 53 years, her Daughter Debbe and husband Patrick Mohn of Ormond Beach, her Sister Carolyn and husband Larry Horting; her sister-in-law Dr. Marilyn Geiger, her God Mother Esther Errebo, her brother-in-law Larry Geiger and wife Sue; her Nephews; G.R. Nisbeth and wife Lori, Dwayne Nisbeth and wife Erin, Tracy Williamson and wife Alice and Mike Williamson and their Mom Sylvia. Sharee's Nieces; Carol Sue Horting and Barb Lowe and husband Doug, Jennifer Claypool and husband Scott. Also many grand-nieces and nephews; Devyn, Jandee, Jeremy, Nettie, Cory, Jared, Tyler, Tara, Aubrey, Brandon, Joe and Shandra, whom all live in Kansas.
Chuck is caring for Sharee's adorable Shih Tzu dog "Buttons" who misses her deeply and sleeps on her pillow.
