SGT MAJ (Ret) Kenneth James Postlewait 88 of Ormond Beach FL passed away Tuesday September 16 2008 at Florida Hospice-Oceanside. Born April 30 1920 in Wheeling WV son of James J and Rose (Downing) Postlewait. He proudly served in the USMC for 30 years (1940-1970). He served in WWII Korea and Vietnam being awarded numerous medals and accommodations. He was a member of the PGA of America for 25 years until retiring in 1985. Ken moved to Ormond Beach from the Armed Forces Retirement Facility in Gulfport MS in 2005. He loved his family and enjoyed golf bowling reading walking and exercising. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Survived by his six children: Terry (Chuck) Dickman Westerville OH; Kathy Postlewait Winter Springs; Ken (Nancy) Postlewait Jr. Louisville KY; Eileen (Tom) Gilliam Buford GA; Laurie Cox Deltona; Dennis (Amy) Postlewait Orlando; the children's mother Theresa Postlewait Maitland; 10 grandchildren Eric (Lyndsey) Tristen Rob Ryan Trenten Joshua Nicholas Zack Ashley Zoe; and close friend Edna Farrell Ormond Beach. A celebration of his life will be held Friday September 19 at 12 noon at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond with burial immediately following at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Florida Hospital-Oceanside Hospice Care 264 S.
