A Funeral Service will be held for Sarah Mildred ?Billie? Roper age 90 formerly of Daytona Beach on Saturday July 22 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00AM and burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park at Noon. The Reverend Philip Morgan of The New Smyrna Bible Chapel and Reverend Louis Lucas of the 1st Baptist Church of Daytona will officiate. Sarah passed away at the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando on Tuesday July 18 2006. She was born on February 4 1916 in Bonifay FL to Jack Homer and Bessie Anderson Johnson. On September 29 1935 she married Carl Hames Roper and spent the next 40 years loving him until his passing in 1976. For years she was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Daytona Beach and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She would open their home to visiting pastors missionaries and choir members. She loved to cook and was an excellent seamstress. Sarah is survived by a son; Carl Hames Roper Jr of Ft. Pierce FL and his 2 children; Carl Sheri Roper III & Lisa Nicholson. Also a daughter; Angela Quinton-Smith and her 2 children; Tamra Quinton David Olsson and James Elizabeth Quinton III. There are 4 great-grandchildren also David and Cheyenne & Dante and Gavin.In addition to her late husband she was predeceased by 2 sisters; Doris Morris and Inez Crowell.
