Sandra Ramirez, age 82, of Deltona, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Sandra was born in New York City to Lucas and Celena Ramirez. Raised in New York, she graduated from high school there before attending Hunter College, where she earned a degree in psychology. Driven by her desire to help others, Sandra later returned to school and obtained her nursing degree. She went on to enjoy a rewarding career as a registered nurse, dedicating more than 20 years to caring for her patients with compassion and professionalism.
While relaxing on a beach in the Bronx, Sandra met the love of her life, Carlos. Their chance meeting blossomed into a lifelong romance, and they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage together. In 1990, Sandra and Carlos made their home in Deltona, relocating from New York and building a life filled with faith, friendship, and adventure.
Sandra was a devoted member of Open Bible Baptist Church in Orange City. She cherished time spent with family and friends and was known for her warm hospitality. She especially enjoyed inviting friends over for gatherings and lively games of Pokeno. An accomplished knitter, she found joy in creating handmade treasures for those she loved.

Sandra and Carlos shared a passion for travel and explored many beautiful destinations together, including Costa Rica, Brazil, Hawaii, and Nicaragua. One of the highlights of their travels was the opportunity to meet President Jimmy Carter during a visit to Nicaragua, a memorable experience they treasured for years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cindy.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years, Carlos Ramirez; her brothers, Eddie Ramirez and Louie Ramirez; and many friends, church family members, and loved ones who will miss her deeply and remember her with affection.
A memorial ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Open Bible Baptist Church in Orange City.
