In loving memory of our mother, Sandra Battiste, who passed away on September 8, 2025, after a long illness.

Sandy was born on November 17, 1949 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to her parents Gar and Ruth and her older brother Roger. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1967 and went on to pursue a career in cosmetology after completing her studies at Bob's Beauty School in Ft. Lauderdale.

Sandy married soon after graduation and later had two children, Michelle and Wayne. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of her life. She volunteered at Samsula Elementary in New Smyrna Beach where her family lived and was very involved in her children's activities.

In 1989, Sandy met her husband Jerry. They were married for 25 years before his passing in 2021. She became a loving stepmother to his children, JerriAnn, Jeanette and Jerry. Sandy and Jerry enjoyed hosting family gatherings, music and traveling.

Sandy was also the owner-operator of the Golden Comb Salon, where she did great hair and made many wonderful memories. She worked as a hairstylist for 37 years in the Daytona Beach area and loved every minute of it. She enjoyed getting to know her clients and considered them her friends.

Sandy is survived by her children, Michelle and Wayne (Stacy); her stepchildren JerriAnn, Jeanette (Lee), and Jerry; her grandchildren, Hannah, Grant, Brett, Levi, Aaron, Brandon, Krystin, Annabelle and Isabel, her brother Roger (Judy) and her sister Diana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona in Daytona Beach on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00am. Inurnment to follow at Daytona Memorial Park.  The family suggests donations to Halifax Health Hospice Care Center in Edgewater in lieu of flowers.
