Samuel "Sam" Mollenkof, age 87, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, under Hospice Care at his home in Ormond Beach on May 6, 2018. He was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on May 28, 1930. Sam served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and then completed his higher education at Juniata College in his hometown. He began his career with U.S. Steel in Johnstown, PA. His position with that company ultimately took him to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Upon his departure from Brazil and U.S. Steel in 1976, Sam settled in Ormond Beach as a financial consultant. This phase of his professional life led him to Eltec Instruments in Daytona Beach in 1980. Through the years, Sam held a variety of positions within the company including President and CEO. He continued to serve as Executive Consultant to the company until the time of his passing. He is predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn "Billie" Mollenkof. He is survived by his loving wife, Aline Chance Mollenkof of Ormond Beach. He also leaves behind a daughter, Suzanne "Suzy" Tucker (Steve) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina a son, Sam Mollenkof (Deanna) of Ormond Beach, a granddaughter Katie Rainey (Scott) of Winston-Salem, a grandson Andrew Tucker of Winston-Salem, and two great-grandchildren, Sam and Kacie Rainey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Those who knew Sam would agree that he loved a good debate; there is no debating that he will be missed by his family and friends.
