Samuel Anthony Mang, 90 of Holly Hill, FL passed away peacefully at Emory L. Bennett Memorial Veterans Nursing Home on September 6, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 10 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 Nova Rd. Ormond Beach with interment with military honors to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach between the hours of 5-7 pm.

Samuel was born February 2, 1924 in Venice, Illinois to Dominic and Carmella Mangiaracino. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII on the Island of Guam from 1943-46. He continued serving as a warehouse manager in conjunction with the US Army until 1986. Once retired he and his wife, Peggy relocated to Volusia County from Granite City, Illinois. Samuel then went on to work as a Greeter at Walmart for over ten years, until 2008. He was the past commander of the American Legion in Venice, IL Samuel enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Biloxi with his wife and celebrating Christmas with family and friends. He also loved to BBQ and dancing up a storm.

Samuel is survived by his two sons, Donald (Connie) Mang, Glen Carbon, IL and Phillip Mang of Orange Park, FL, by his step-children Becky (Bill) Laughlin, Ormond Beach, FL, Debra (Shawn) Van Lancker, Ocean Springs, MS, Suzanne (John) Hyder, Aiken, SC, and Ewing "Scott" Thomason, Ormond Beach, eight grandchildren, Angelina (Andrew) Hardesty, Mary Mang, Gina (Shayne) Martin, Michael Mang and his Fianc, Meghan Long, Sean Laughlin, Kassie (Jason) Bonamo, Christopher Hyden and Zachary Van Lancker, and five great-grandchildren, Kason Bonamo, Brooks Bonamo, Abigail Hardesty, Cooper Erwin, and Addalyn Martin.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian (Cunetto) Mang who passed on November 1980, and his loving wife of 31 years, Peggy Thomason-Mang, his parents, Dominic and Carmella Mangiaracino, his sibling, twin brothers, his sisters, Angeline Scaturro, Josephine Phillips, Mary Vaughn, Ann Cicio, his brothers, Anthony Mangi, Clifford Mang and Buddy Mang.
