Samuel J. Catalane's Obituary
Samuel J. Catalane Sr. age 91 of South Daytona passed away on February 26 2013.
A visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Thursday February 28 2013 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 a.m. on Friday March 1 2013 at Epiphany Catholic Church with burial to follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery.
Samuel was born on June 23 1921 in Syracuse New York to the late William and Lena (Corso) Catalane. He was a graduate of Syracuse and Niagara University. Following college Samuel enlisted in the United States navy serving proudly during WWII in the European African and Pacific Middle East Theater. He was awarded with the Victory Medal for his service.
Samuel was a cost analyst for General Electric NASA and later retired from Westinghouse. He enjoyed golf College basketball and coaching little league teams especially his children's.
He leaves behind seven children; and nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler at 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129.
