RUTH YAGER 83, of Deland, FL and formally of Liberty, NY has joined her husband, Jerry in eternal life on Monday October 5th. She was born in Meredith NY, and raised in Livingston Manor, NY. Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband Jerry after 62 wonderful years together, her parents Edwin and Edith Mears, siblings; Kenneth Mears, Robert Mears, Edwin Mears, and Joan Holladay. She retired from Volusia County Malloy Headstart as a teacher's assistant. Her interests included genealogy, sewing, quilting, and in her younger years, antique bottle digging, and garage saling. Family was most important to her; she was an extremely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her 3 loving daughters; Barbara Yager Peck and husband Bill of Goshen, NY, Beverly Robinson and husband Jim of Deland FL, and Regina Yager, of Deland, FL, Grandchildren; Brenda Mcgough (Ric), Christie White ( David), Joanne Mercado(Jovanny), Katie Robinson, Lynn Hunter (Steve) and Shawn Peck, 10 Great grandchildren, sister Kathy Levitt and husband Wayne of Liberty, NY, brother John Mears and wife Fay of Livingston Manor, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ruth was an active member of St. Peter's church in Deland, FL. Her Love, gentle spirit, and kindness she shared will live on with each of us, forever in our hearts. She was a wonderful and amazing woman that we love and will miss dearly. A Visitation will be held Monday October 12, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Lohman Funeral Home Deland Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday October 13, 2015 at St. Peters Catholic Church Deland, FL at 11am with burial to follow at Deland Memorial Gardens.
